Poems

If there is light in the soul

There will be beauty in the person.

If there is beauty in the person

There will be harmony in the house.

If there is harmony in the house

There will be order in the nation.

If there is order in the nation,

There will be peace in the world.

What’s wrong with watching TV

It rots the senses in the heat!

It kills imagination dead!

It clogs and clutters up the mind!

It makes the child so dull and blind

He can no longer understand

A fantasy, a fairy land!

His brain becomes as soft as cheese!

His powers of thinking ruts and freeze!

He cannot think – he only sees.

A Madrigal (W. Shakespeare)

Crabbed age and youth

Cannot live together,

Youth is full of pleasure,

Age is full of care;

Youth like summer morn,

Age like winter bare;

Youth is full of sport,

Age’s breath is short;

Youth is hot and bold,

Age is weak and cold;

Youth is wild  and age is tame,

Age, I do abhor thee!

Youth, I do adore thee!

Oh, my Love, my love is young.

Human Values

One flower can wake the dream,

One tree can start a forest,

One bird can herald a spring,

One smile begins a friendship,

One star can guide a ship at sea,

One vote can change a nation,

One sunbeam lights a room,

One candle wipes out darkness,

One step must start each journey,

One hope will raise our spirits,

One touch can show you care,

One voice can speak with wisdom,

One heart can know what’s true,

One life can make the difference,

You see, it’s up to You!

                ***

If you love something,

Love it completely, cherish it, say it, but most importantly, show it.

Life is finite and fragile,

And just because something is there one day, it might not be the next.

Never take that for granted. Say what you need to say, then say a little more. Say too much. Show too much. Everything is temporary but love. Love outlives us all.

    ***

We’re born in one day

We die in one day

We can change in one day

And we can fall in love in one day.

Anything can happen in just one day.
